Empower yourself with unbiased estimates to make the best decisions for your home after Hurricane Ian.
Let Invictus Construction help guide you through the process to evaluate, estimate, and provide critical information to determine your next steps.
It must be overwhelming to be displaced from your home after the catastrophe of Hurricane Ian. And if this was a second home for you, it is likely very stressful trying to assess the current status and to move forward on decisions and repairs. You have likely heard about FEMA’s 50% Rule* which mandates that if your home’s repair costs total or exceed 50% of the property's market value — it must be brought up to current building codes and floodplain regulations. We understand the questions that need resolution, such as:
Will the price to repair my home exceed 50%? If so, what options do I have?
Will the price of my repair be less than the 50%? If so, what does the repair of our home include? Can I chose the finishes?
There are so many aspects for you to consider. How on earth do we find the right people to help us with this process? How do we protect ourselves from being taken advantage of in this scary situation with so many contractors coming to the island?
Invictus Construction understands these questions and is here to help you make all the decisions you need to make. We’ll work with you and explain the process, as well as give you all the information you need to work with your insurance company and FEMA to make the best decision of if and how to rebuild.
*If you are not familiar, please do your own research on this and speak with your insurance company or FEMA directly.
Invictus has a 2-step process to make it easier on you.
Step 1 .
Inspect, scan, and provide an Xactimate cost estimate
Our professional staff and key partnership with our professional relationships, will inspect, scan, produce 2D floor plans, as well as a detailed estimate to repair your home based on the best standard grade/contractor grade finishes. This gives you a detailed cost estimate of the most economical path to repairing your home. At the end of Step 1, you will have the information on cost to repair your home, so you can make an informed decision on how to move forward. Can we repair the home under the 50% threshold? And if not, what options do we have?
If your decision is to move forward, then we move to Step 2
Step 2 .
Move forward with what works for YOUR home
We take the information from Step 1 and to move forwards on which ever path works for you and your goals:
Repair – We will work with you on the final designs, inspections by qualified professionals for envelope and roofing, and final signed and sealed permittable plans for the repair. Once the drawings are complete a final cost estimate will be provided for the total cost to repair your home.
Renovate – We will work with you on final designs, inspections by qualified professionals for envelope and roofing, and final signed and sealed permittable plans for the renovation. Renovating your home will require the house to be code compliant, which maybe meet without tearing down and building new. Our experience with design build construction is a perfect fit for the one stop shop for full design and construction services.
New Build – We will work with you throughout the entire process of building a new home—from demolition to certificate of occupancy—with our design build partners.
Imagine having a certified contractor as a trusted partner in this process in deciding to repair, rebuild or to sell. That is our goal.
With our extensive experience in construction and restoration management, Invictus Construction will be there every step of the way to get you back in to your home. If you chose to repair your home, our team will take you through any remaining demolition you may have, providing additional scans and inspections, and obtain final floor plans for construction and permitting. If you chose to rebuild, Invictus will help guide you to contractors that specialize in all your rebuild needs.
